Meet Mariachi Real’s Newest Member
At only 3 years of age, Omar Gonzalez is the newest member of Mariachi Real De San Diego.
He plays the violin and the vihuela, and he is a huge attraction everywhere that he performs. He was featured on the front page of the San Diego Union-Tribune on Monday May 5th, 2014. He also performed on the field at Qualcomm Stadium for the pre-game and halftime festivities during the San Diego Chargers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game on Sunday September 28th, 2014.
A clip of this performance was shown nationally on CBS TV. He is the third generation in the mariachi band along with grandfather Pedro Gonzalez and his uncle Mauricio Gonzalez. A very talented mariachi, Omar is pleasing crowds everywhere.
